This policy explains what personal information Volna Global (“we”, “us”) collects through https://volnaglobal.org, why, who receives it, and the choices you have. It applies to this website only.

Who we are

Volna Global is a nonprofit organization at 453 S. Spring St., Suite 1212, Los Angeles, CA 90013 (EIN 42-2628557). We are responsible for the personal information described here. Questions or requests: volnaglobalmail@gmail.com.

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact form: your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message.
  • Newsletter: your email address and the date you signed up.

Information collected automatically

  • Security data: your IP address and browser details are processed by our hosting provider to deliver the site and block attacks and spam, including by the Cloudflare Turnstile check on our forms.
  • Visit statistics without cookies: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views in aggregate. It sets no cookies and does not build a profile of you.
  • Google Analytics, only if you accept: see Cookies below.

We do not ask for, and ask you not to send, sensitive information such as health or financial details.

How and why we use it

  • To read and reply to your message — based on your consent (the box you tick on the form).
  • To send the newsletter you asked for — based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • To keep the site secure and free of spam — based on our legitimate interest in protecting it.
  • To understand how the site is used, only if you accept analytics cookies — based on your consent.

We never sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Cookies and similar technologies

  • Your preferences: we store your cookie choice and display preferences in your browser’s local storage. This never leaves your device.
  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4): set only after you click “Accept analytics”. They include _ga and _ga_* and expire after 13 months. Google Signals and ad personalisation are switched off. How Google handles this data: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
  • We do not use advertising or social-media tracking cookies.

You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page, or by clearing cookies in your browser.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a refusal of analytics cookies: Google Analytics is not loaded and we do not ask. We do not track you across other websites, and we do not allow third parties to do so on ours.

Who receives your information

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the site, under contract:

  • Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) — hosts this website, protects forms from spam (Turnstile), delivers contact-form messages to our inbox, and measures visits without cookies (Web Analytics).
  • Google LLC (USA) — Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies; our email (Google Workspace).
  • EmailOctopus (Three Hearts Digital Ltd, UK) (stored in Ireland, EU; its email providers may process data outside the UK and EU) — stores newsletter sign-ups and sends the confirmation email and the newsletter.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing (California “Shine the Light”, Civil Code § 1798.83).

International transfers

We are based in the United States and our providers store data there. If you write to us from the European Union or the United Kingdom, your information is transferred to the US under our providers’ safeguards, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Contact messages: up to 24 months after our last exchange, then deleted.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe; we then keep only a record that you opted out.
  • Analytics data in Google Analytics: 14 months.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, withdraw consent, or object to its use, by writing to volnaglobalmail@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link.

If you are in the EU or UK you also have the rights to data portability and to restrict processing, and you can complain to your data protection authority. California residents may review and correct the information they submitted by contacting us.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before contacting us. If we learn that we received information from a child under 13, we will delete it.

Security

The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS, and access to messages is limited to the people who answer them. No method of transmission is completely secure, so please do not send us sensitive information.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we update the date at the top. If a change is significant we will say so on the home page.
